Established in 2004, klimaaktiv is the Austrian government's flagship programme for voluntary climate action. This comprehensive initiative encompasses a diverse range of activities, including education and training for energy consultants, dissemination of information on energy efficiency measures, and establishment of building standards. Petra Lackner and Gabriele Brandl from the Austrian Energy Agency have been supporting the initiative as programme managers and instructors for many years.
